Thank you for the large number of dedicated people who signed on to help fuel the Crusade--- I will continue to make new posts that anyone can copy and send out. You can make your own posts shorter but explaining WHY HSUS is misleading takes some doing.............since many people don't want to believe it.
Note: For the postings to rise on Google, keep using the 'Join the Crusade against HSUS+Pass it Forward' as the Header, so that the spiders can find larger numbers of the postings. When people see "Join the Crusade" they might assume it's in favor of HSUS and click on it.
Posting on 'care2care', Facebook, or any social networking site will push our Crusade up there on Google. It will work for Craigslist and Kijiji as well. It will cause AR people to have to spend time+effort trying to squelch our efforts, but there are MORE of US than them......so keep up the good work.
Rome wasn't built in a day, but we will get momentum going and work as a unified TEAM. I know we feel the same about HSUS nonsense--and we need to tell EVERYONE, just like the ARs tell everyone. We must become unstoppable. We must do whatever it takes to get it done. Remember-- "All things come to those who go after them" (Rob Estes)
I sound like I am giving a sales presentation. Well then, WELCOME all recruits!!
“Rescue” Says Kill Your Dog if No Home
According to the words of a known "pitbull" rescue in the US, No kill has created unrealistic expectations for those who want their animals to go to a "no kill" rescue. Further, it is stated that San Francisco has been called the No kill solution for the country, making people think that giving up a dog in that area means it 'will be saved.'
In response to an inquiry re whether the 'rescue' would accept a surrendered pitbull dog? No. They can't take the dog and it was stated, there is no such thing as a No kill solution for pitbulls; San Francisco is not a No kill city for pitbulls, the private shelters will not take your dog, your local shelter won't guarantee your dog will be adopted. It was stated:Try to find a new home for the dog, and if this is impossible, give the dog a week of love and then have the vet put the dog down. That is the advice that was given, in writing. Right there on the rescue blog.
Now that is not what I would have expected to hear? I know many rescues will not take owner surrendered dogs, and they will not help owners re-home their dogs. When owners DO try and re home their dogs, (like on Craigslist), this particular rescue takes the time to surveil Craigslist every day to make notes on how many people are trying to get pitbull dogs sold (citing there are too many such dogs already) Also, of course, we have the infamous CL Gang Flaggers flagging off every dog that they don't want anyone to have with statements like "PETA SAYS OWNING A PET IS SLAVERY FLAG IT!"
With those odds, it's not likely that the owner of the dog is going to have much luck? And in keeping with the protocol of the rescue, which will kill unborn pups rather than attempt to find them homes (since there is always a possibility that the "bad" owner may down the road try to abandon the dog)-----it seems the goal of the rescue really isn't to save pitbull dogs from the shelters. The goal might be education re pitbull dogs and altering of pitbull dogs or pitbull mixed dogs. After all, didn't the rescue just say there is nothing short of killing your dog if you cannot find it a new home?
If all rescues gave out that type of advice (and this isn't the only one doing so), it's a wonder that they even rescue any dogs at all. Methinks this sounds more like the work of a shelter which believes that killing dogs is the best thing since cheap gasoline. After stomping through too many shelters, and listening to workers lament about all the killing inside, it likely amounts to post traumatic stress disorder. Or, it sounds remotely familiar---maybe it reminds us of that witch who advocates for killing all the dogs and cats too. What's her name?
