PDF re What “they” Don’t want you to knowHSUS FACTS AR09

The animal extremists are putting the signs up in Time Square. ADOPT,  ADOPT,  ADOPT and closing down pet stores, with the animal extremists claiming victory, stating that THEY do not want pets advertised online.  They don’t want anyone to even BUY a puppy. They don’t want anyone to buy a puppy from a commercial kennel. They don’t want any dog breeders to breed more than two litters for the life of a dog.

The animal rights act as if they are experts in dog breeding (they are not) and tell dog breeders they cannot breed from the same line. HSUS tries to make a law in CA where one cannot even “display” a live animal outside in specific places, or show it for trade, barter, sale or whatever.

HSUS is purposely trying to close off ALL avenues of obtaining, viewing, or buying/selling an animal.  That is MORE than obvious, and HSUS has people helping them do it, by all the people getting on the HSUS bandwagon against commercial kennels.  People are so easily MISLED due to the dumbing down of the public with over-reliance on TV, on videos, on any media that can be SEEN, such as Animal Planet, a huge Animal Rights movement show.

So it’s ok for their Animal Rights groups to advertise their pets online, but it’s not ok for the pet stores, re-homers,breeders, or individuals to do the same?  [I believe any pet store that is not in violation of any law should be able to operate just like any other business. I do not care where the pets came from as long as they were not an illegal source.  If we start negating every type of animal enterprise like the ARs do, we will be digging our own graves in regard to ownership.]

According to animal behaviorist Gary Wilkes, people are told or persuaded (by animal rights groups)  to adopt a pet for the wrong reasons; people are tempted to pick one specifically because it is otherwise unadoptable, not because it is right for them.

Wilkes states:  ”Promotional programs that imply that you should acquire a pet in order to prevent it from being killed , confuse the issue of humane care and treatment of animals. The best reason to acquire a pet is simply because you want one. Along with that desire should go the commitment to provide food, shelter, veterinary care, training and love.”   And this was stated by Wilkes in 1994, not 2004.

According to the cat fanciers association, dogs and cats of any recognizable breed, no matter the source, only account for less than 10% of animals entering shelters; and cats  less than 1%.  This is certainly a different percentage than alleged by the animal extremists at 30-35%.

An American Veterinary Medicine Association study found that the vast majority of animals relinquished at shelters were because of behavior problems that owners did not know how to deal with.

When adopters of dogs want low cost training help, it is not usually to be found from the animal shelter, and private training for dogs is relatively expensive.  Group puppy training can usually be found, but often the class is fairly large, and many dogs start the classes too early in the pup’s life, and then the owner does not continue to train it.

Knowing this, shelters should be partnering with trainers to provide low cost private training for shelter dogs.  But they usually don’t.  Instead, animal extremists, some of whom actually work at shelters, try and browbeat the public, using their constant misrepresentations such as the one that altering a dog will make it non aggressive, or that it will make it a non-biter. Studies have even shown exactly the opposite, that females after altering may be more prone to aggression.

A recent study showed  that of the dogs which bit children of a younger age, breed had no correlation, BUT 93% of the dogs WERE altered. Most of the animals had bitten before, which suggests that perhaps the animal was improperly trained and the children were not safety trained with dogs.  Clearly the extremely high rate of altering indicates that the dog’s altered status is NOT indicative of whether or not it will, in fact, bite a child.

But you won’t hear any extremists talking about that bite study will you???

As stated by the cat fanciers association, even in 1994, pet “overpopulation” has become the excuse for animal rights extremists to start legislation that will end the breeding of animals, while at the same time it can be used to cover up the bad shelter procedures, such as the problems found in the Los Angeles shelters recently, or even the problems in Kern County, California, or in Riverside County which passed MSN. MSN will not stop shelter killing and those affected will ignore it. Most poor people will abandon the animal and just get another one. Without educating people, you won’t change anything. But HSUS type groups, Peta et al, could care less. They aren’t about saving animals, as Peta killed 95% of animals taken in for 2008 (and in prior years pretty much the same percentage), and HSUS has a patternand practice of going on witch hunts for kennels, seizing the dogs, and then selling them all, or killing them all.

Animal rights is  ALL about humans NOT having the right to buy, sell and own animals.  A good look at the HSUS website verifies this 100%.

Animal Planet airs the shows they are given. Our side needs to make a show. I have looked into this.
