…Even if this was true, how ridiculous does the AR HSUS shebang-bang have to get?
Why would “HSUS”–even if it was actually “HSUS” to begin with– offer puppies to a pet store owner? And why would the owner NEED “HSUS” interfering at all? Pet store owner received several calls from person claiming to be from “HSUS.” This was not verified as to whether it actually was an “HSUS” employee.
I called the other phone number yesterday and your voicemail said to send an email. Please contact me if you would like any assistance in converting to puppy adoptions at your store instead of selling puppies. I would be happy to help in any way that we can.
Hope you’re having a good week and I look forward to hearing back from you.
Thanks and best regards,

Pet store ban on animals other than non profit sourced critters is absurd. FORCING people to sell only the “rehomed” animals in California, while prohibiting sales NOT from California is crazy and illegal from our view.
And now Oceanside, CA is going to try and use the same regulation against pet store animals that passed in San Diego. There are now two (2) attorneys working on the San Diego pet store case, Carolyn Chan, Esq. (also working on the horse seizure case- Eastern District; dog seizure case- Eastern District) and Kira Schlesinger, Esq., San Diego County. Ms. Schlesinger will be speaking to the Oceanside city council on September 25, 2013. We will update when the news comes in.
