UPDATE: REDDING POLICE FIND MISSING VAN AND SHOW DOGS
A Seattle dog trainer on his way to a Vallejo show stopped for lunch in Redding. In less than three minutes, his van with 15 show dogs in it was stolen from the In and Out Burger parking lot. The stolen van was a 2018 Dodge ProMaster Cargo Van with Washington license plates…….and was left with engine running…..

Our question was this: why would anyone leave a vehicle running with that many dogs inside at 10am in the morning, in 1-3 minutes the dogs would not overheat; and when one is in charge of “show dogs”, do we not think that one is liable for whatever happens when things like this should occur?
Driving from WA to Hwy 80 outside of Sacramento toward SF is definitely a distance. We would have thought that driving through a drive through should be fairly easy, and even if someone needed a pit stop, several minutes of leaving dogs in truck with doors locked should not be illegal. Therefore we say the trainer is lucky if no dogs were stolen.
